Passive Fire Protection

By passive fire protection we mean the set of precautionary measures provided for

  1. The timely and safe escape of the public from the building - prevention of collapse in case of an incident and
  2. Avoiding the transmission of fire to other areas or other buildings
    and includes:

    ✓ Architectural and construction design
    ✓ Escape routes - Number of emergency exits.
    ✓ Restriction of fire spread
    ✓ Other requirements

According to Presidential Decree 71/88, all buildings need study and the application of Passive Fire Protection means is mandatory.

In the case of timely and safe escape of the public are used:
• Security light
• Marking of escape routes

To prevent the spread of fire to other areas or other buildings are used:
• Characterization of dangerous areas
• Fire compartments consisting of load-bearing structures and fire barriers or opening frames.
