IG100 Fire Suppression Systems
For automatic suppression in areas requiring the use of clean extinguishing agent with a zero environmental footprint, we recommend the IG100 fire suppression system (in accordance with EN15004, NFPA 2001), with EN approval. The installation shall be certified as an overall system.
The automatic fire suppression system is manufactured in accordance with existing legislation and international specifications and, in particular:
• PD 15
• Standard ΕΝ 54
• Standard EN15004
• Standard EN12094
The automatic fire suppression system is comprised of two main components. The extinguishing detection system and the network of cylinders, pipes or devices that constitute the extinguishing agent.
The IG-100 system uses nitrogen as a clean, safe and 100% environmentally friendly extinguishing agent. Nitrogen is widely used in a multitude of extinguishing systems due to its benefits as a compressed gas. The application of IG-100 combine fire suppression by reducing a percentage of O2 while maintaining enough to preserve breathing.
Due to this feature, it can be used to extinguish fires in areas that are occupied by people, ensuring their safe evacuation both in terms of the level of oxygen in the room, and the absence of chemicals in the discharge.
In addition, its physical and dispersion properties help maintain visibility during evacuation. It is highly recommended for Class A, B and C fires. The system operates by completely flooding the room, ensuring the full discharge of the extinguishing agent in less than 1 minute while observing the aforementioned safety conditions.
IG-100 has two variants, depending on the cylinder's storage pressure: IG-100 at 200 bar and IG-100 at 300 bar. This allows us to adjust the required amount of extinguishing agent that is required in the area in question.
➤ About the IG100 extinguishing agent
Nitrogen gas is clean, generates no combustion products, is non-toxic, and does not cause irritation to the skin and eyes. It is harmless to people at design concentrations and is therefore ideal for extinguishing fires in occupied spaces. In addition, visibility is high, so that evacuation is not impaired. Pure nitrogen is obtained by the distillation of air, so it is a completely environmentally friendly gas with zero ozone depletion (ODP) and zero global warming potential (GWP). Since it is not a mixture of gases, it is easy to refill and can be acquired at any geographic location. Nitrogen is non-corrosive and can be used at normal temperatures with materials typically used in industry and construction. It is electrically non-conductive and is therefore highly recommended for protecting electrical and electronic materials. Colourless, odourless, tasteless, electrically non-conductive and chemically neutral gas.
The patented pressure regulating discharge valve used in the system has been designed to automatically regulate the pressure of the cylinder, providing an ideal discharge pressure and maintaining a constant flow rate throughout the discharge.
