This system will activate the automatic fire suppression device. Its main parts are:
1. CONVENTIONAL AUTOMATIC EXTINGUISHER PANEL
The extinguisher panel is designed using state-of-the-art integrated circuit technology.
It is wall mounted, assembled at the manufacturing plant and includes all the necessary control equipment and circuits.
All the switches and LED indicators are labelled so that they are immediately visible.
The extinguisher panel shall consist of two (2) detection zones and one (1) extinguishing command. There is the option for a cross-zone detection system per extinguishing area, i.e. two alarm levels. The 1st level (pre-alarm) will indicate the existence of a fire and the 2nd level (main alarm) will confirm the event. The automatic fire sprinklers will start after the scheduled time delay following the main alarm. The panel will be connected to the fire detection system loop without the need for monitor or control modules and it will be possible to operate it from the main panel.
The main panel consists of the following components:
A. Exits per zone
B. Internal and external circuit fault control
C. Final command and indication
D. Power supply
E. Backup batteries
2. SMOKE AND TEMPERATURE DETECTORS
These are installed in the area with the aim of offering the best possible coverage. This achieves the immediate activation of the system and fire suppression.
3. FIRE ACTIVATION BUTTON
A yellow button installed directly outside the area that requires two actions to activate the system. We use this button to manually activate the extinguishing system when we have ascertained the existence of a fire, prior to the activation of the detectors.
4. EXTINGUISHANT HOLD OFF/ABORT BUTTON
It is positioned next to the activation button and is used to hold off or abort an extinguishing command in the event of a false alarm or maintenance and work performed in the area.
5. VISUAL AND AUDIO DEVICES
The installation of an automatic extinguishing system requires the placement of warning devices prior to the commencement and during the extinguishing. These requirements are met with an illuminated STOP GAS sign over each door, a sounder beacon and a pre-alarm bell.
The system’s cabling is fire proof and shielded to avoid false alarms.
